The main objective of the article is to analyse the current state of the innovation activity among the Russian enterprises. The empirical evidence shows only 13% of the sample indicated that innovation is the first priority for the firm. We propose that the Russian Government designs innovation policies which takes into account the differences between the industries. Secondly, the Russian Government should promote international innovation cooperation by setting up technology trade agents in the most active countries in terms of innovation cooperation, such as Germany, the USA, and Finland. Thirdly, the CEOs of the Russian enterprises consider R&D funding as well as policy steps to increase R&D effectiveness, as those measures of innovation policy which should be of the highest p...

This paper sets out to propose the techniques that enable corporations to develop and to implement robust strategies under conditions of severe uncertainty. Through the correction of the traditional definition of stakeholders I found the general algorithm for achieving robustness in corporate strategies. This algorithm includes: (1) the clear definition of a limited set of the types of stakeholders, (2) the simplification of the sets of stakeholders' claims and discovery of intrinsic benefits common for all stakeholders of a particular type, (3) defining the space of acceptance of corporate performance for each type of stakeholders, (4) finding a non-empty intersection of such spaces for all types of stakeholders. The use of these techniques is illustrated by the new strategy of LUKOIL ...

This paper is a contribution to the theoretical foundations of data mining. More precisely, we contribute to a part of data mining allowing us to search for associations among attributes that can be expressed in the form of natural language sentences. The theoretical background and also a method for mining such associations was published recently in [V. Novák et al., Mining pure linguistic associations from numerical data, Int. Journal of Approximate Reasoning 48 (2008), 4 - 22]. We elaborated other mathematical representations of the model presented in the mentioned paper in order to extend its applicability.

This paper addresses the question of why business ethics did not become a standard part of research and academic education in German-speaking countries until now. It traces this trend back to experiences of the dictatorship prior to World War II. Until the 1980s, Max Weber's concept of value-free scientific statements dominated the discipline. Since the mid-1980s, several positions and concepts of business ethics have been suggested, all of which failed to garner the acceptance of business ethics. Therefore, an alternative, analytical concept of business ethics is developed which separates between logical, empirical and normative dimensions of ethical problems.

There are a growing number of studies describing developments in the labour market, in employer-employee relationships, and in individual careers in a very similar way. The discussion about work force flexibility and the challenges for HRM to handle scattered arrangements is often justified by a growing complexity caused by the driving forces of globalization, virtualization, demographic developments or changes in values. However, so far there is no empirical evidence for that complexity hypothesis in individual careers. The primary aim of this article is to approach the complexity hypothesis of career research on the basis of a sound definition for complexity and to test the complexity hypothesis for data from the Vienna Career Panel Project.
